ACER NOTEBOOKS ASPIRE 4520
can I upgrade my hard drive to another brand hard drive?
I have an Acer Aspire 4520 with a Western Digital Scorpio Blue WD1200BEVS 120GB 5400 RPM 8MB Cache 2.5″ SATA 1.5Gb/s . I want to upgrade my hard drive to at least 500GB and 7200 RPM or higher. I find WD drives 500GB or higher but not 7200 RPM only 5400 RPM. I found this drive which I like, HITACHI Travelstar HD20500 IDK/7K 500GB 7200 RPM 2.5″ SATA 3.0Gb/s Internal Notebook Hard Drive. Can I upgrade my laptop hard drive to the Hitachi or any other brand?
Yes you can as long as its a SATA. The 2.5 is important too since its a laptop it has limited space unlike a desktop.
