COMPAQ NOTEBOOKS OVERHEATING
Did I just overheat my laptop or get a virus or destroy something else?
I have a Compaq Presario F700 Notebook. I had it on all night using the internet and watching movies. Near morning my internet provider turns out had some issues and kicked a bunch of us off. I thought it might be my computer so I tried restarting it and that’s when my laptop just quit. It wouldn’t finish starting up. I let it rest for a couple days and now it will start up but I can’t get it past the start menu. I can’t even get it to do a shutdown. What happened? Is there a way to get my files and pictures and music off of it?
If you can, download an anti-virus program like avast or avira to your desktop where you can see it, and install and run a full sweep. It is unlikely that it was your laptop over running and getting to hot. My bet is that there is a virus somewhere.
