How do I add more RAM to my Compaq Presario C303NR notebook??
I got a notebook about a year ago and it ran very smoothly while playing world of warcraft, opening and closing windows, loading internet pages etc.
During the last 3 weeks + or so I have noticed that it has been lagging a bit. Quite a bit. I have 512 MB of RAM and I would like to install more/replace what I have with more to make it run smoother. I will soon be starting college and do not want a laggy notebook.
The sticker on my computer says it is a Compaq Presario C303NR Notebook PC. I have not been able to find the model C303NR, so maybe it is not made anymore, or maybe I the sticker is wrong/I am looking in the wrong place.
I would like to know if I can upgrade this (I know that sometimes laptops are ‘unupgradable’ ), and if so what is the RAM I should buy (i.e what do I ask for at the store/type into ebay).

If you were wondering, you are correct. There is such a thing as a Compaq Presario C303NR.
Whenever upgrading RAM (random access memory), you look for “RAM sticks”. Keep in mind that RAM is not always the problem. The Processor (CPU) may not be fast enough.
The hard drive installed will only be able to read a certain amount of RAM. For example, if your HD is only capable of reading 1GB of RAM, it is useless to install 4GB’s worth of RAM sticks.
Check to make sure your laptop is (as you said) “upgradable”.
