DELL FREE NOTEBOOKS
What the hell? This is supposed to be a free upgrade to Vista?
Okay, I bought a Dell Inspiron 640m notebook on December 1st, 2006, and I got an offer for a FREE express upgrade to Windows Vista, yet when I got there to register, I had to pay with a credit card? I don’t have one, and I thought it was free? It also said I had until March 31st, 2007 to redeem it. Maybe I should contact Dell for this?
And to MEROMSPEE, I will not buy an iBook, I;m not made of money here. My Dell is great, and it works. I got it as a gift and it would hurt my parents’ feelings if I ever tried to sell this one for an iBook, besides, I like Windows better than Mac OS X. Thanks for your answer, anyhow.
The upgrade is free … you pay Microsoft $27 (Australian that is) for the CD shipping and postage charges … Dell is trying to get into the act by adding their cut to do it for you. I know here Dell want $35 plus the $27 for Microsoft.
The same applies if you recently purchased Microsoft Office
I personally think $27 for a new operating system and/or a complete version of Office isn’t a bad deal
