DELL NOTEBOOKS TOUCH SCREEN
Does anyone have a solution to Mouse Irratic movement – Dell lattidue C610 Notebook?
Assuming this was a software problem I re-installed Windows XP Pro twice and the mouse is still acting up. I does not respond to the touch pad. The cursor is either at the bottom left corner of the screen or top right of the screen.
Now I am led to believe this is a hardware problem. Please help, anyone!
Does an external mouse work?
To test the hardware, take Windows out of the equation: download a free LiveCD (such as Knoppix (www.knoppix.com) or Ubuntu (www.ubuntu.com)) and boot from it. If the trackpad works from the LiveCD, you know the hardware is working; if not, you know the trackpad hardware is faulty.
