She bought 4 spiral notebooks at 1.50 each, a package of pens for 3.95, three felt tip markers at .99 each, and a three ring binder for 5.00.
the sales tax is 6.5% . What was the total price Mary paid at the check out counter?
4 x £1.50 = £6
3 x £0.99 = £2.97
Total cost = £6 + £3.95 + £2.97 + £5 = £17.92
6.5% of £17.92 = £1.16
Total cost after tax = £17.92 + £1.16 = £21.08
