Smartphone manufacturer Tecno has announced the launch of a stylish mid-range smartphone with polychromatic photoisomer technology. It's simply a feature that can rotate a monochrome backplate to display multiple colors when reflecting light.
It's a limited edition phone - the company's first in India. However, the Camon 19 Mondrian has the same internals as the regular variant.
The phone comes in a single memory and storage option with 8GB RAM and 128GB internal storage priced at Rs 17,999 (Amazon Indian Festival).
The Tecno Camon 19 Mondrian sports a 6.9-inch FHD+ LCD display with a 120Hz refresh rate. Under the hood of the phone is a MediaTek Helio G96 octa-core processor, 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage . The phone gets 5GB of virtual RAM through the software update.
Visually, the Tecno Camon 19 comes with a triple rear camera setup with a 64MP primary camera with Mondrian, RGBW sensor and OIS support. It's paired with a 50-megapixel portrait lens, a 2-megapixel sensor and a quad-LED flash. The phone has a 32MP selfie camera under the hole on the front.
The phone is powered by a 5000mAh battery and supports 33W fast charging. It runs the Android 12 based XOS and has a fingerprint sensor located under the power button.
The Tecno Camon 19 Mondrian stands out with its white back, which changes shades of blue and pink when exposed to sunlight.
It's not the first phone with color-changing technology. We've seen this technology in several phones from Vivo and Realme. However, unlike these phones, the Tecno phone comes in a variety of colors. At the same time, this feature loses its uniqueness after a few days of use or after the user removes the protective cover.
As a result, the phone not only competes with devices from other brands, but also with Tecno's own devices, the Camon 19 Pro and Camon 19 Neo.
