iOS 16.1 beta 5 includes some new features left over from the first version of iOS 16 and also adds some other unseen features like a redesigned battery indicator and a clean energy charging feature.
In iOS 16.1, Apple is adding the long-awaited Live Actions feature to help you stay up to date with what's happening in real time right from the lock screen.
When 9to5Mac was first invented, Apple was preparing to remove the Apple Wallet app . The feature comes at a time when international observers are raising antitrust concerns about Apple Pay. It's unclear if Apple will add third-party wallets to the iPhone, but at least users can avoid using the wallet app.
In addition, Apple is preparing support for Matter , a new connectivity standard for smart homes that will allow compatible accessories to work together across all platforms.
Another feature available in iOS 16.1 beta 5 is iCloud Photo Shared Library , a new way for families to seamlessly share photos with a dedicated iCloud library that can be shared with up to six users.
Along with iOS 16.1 Beta 5, Apple released iPadOS 16.1 Beta 6, macOS 13 Ventura Beta 11, and tvOS 16.1 Beta 5.
