In the Mail app, go to the inbox of the selected account (tap Inbox to see everything), then compose a new email. Compose your email as usual - add the recipient's email address, subject, body and any attachments - then click the blue button in the top right corner to send your email.
Once you've done that, you should go back to your inbox. At the bottom of the page, you'll see the blue text "Cancel Delivery" . By default, you only have 10 seconds to click this button to cancel the last email sent, otherwise it will be sent unexpectedly and you won't be able to recover it.
By clicking the "Cancel Send" button , you will be returned to your email where you can correct errors or add missing attachments and resend the email. As before, if another error occurs, you have 10 seconds to cancel the email.
This gives you more time to cancel an email on your iPhone
The way the send function works is that instead of sending and then receiving the email, you have a buffer time between the email being sent and pressing the send button. As mentioned above, the default time is 10 seconds, but you can use your settings to increase this buffer.
In the Settings app, go to Mail > Cancel Send Delay , then choose a delay time:
- outside of it
- 10 seconds (default)
- 20 seconds
- 30 seconds
If you select Off, you won't be able to use the Send feature in the Mail app.
