Vivo, known for its mid-range smartphones, has released the latest edition of the Vivo V25 series and introduced the latest in the V27 series of phones. We received the Pro version for review, namely the Vivo V27 Pro.
The new V27 Pro has a curved screen, a Dimensity 8200 processor and a daylight-changing back panel. However, considering the price of the phone, it will be interesting to see how the V27 Pro will attract customers as there is an option for buyers in the form of the latest OnePlus 11R.
The new Vivo V27 Pro is a long and beautiful phone with a curved screen and almost no bezels. We received the Magic Blue variant for review, which comes with a color-changing back panel that casts a darker shade in daylight. The back also has a rectangular ring with three camera holes and a new circular LED flash that is quite bright. The front panel has a screen with a hole in the middle. A fingerprint sensor is also integrated under the screen, which works very accurately and quickly.
Curved edges and high bezels give the phone a premium look. The phone is light, which allows you to use it for a long time. The button layout is the same as previous models, with the power button and volume rockers on the right. At the top of the phone is an additional microphone for active noise cancellation, and at the bottom there is a SIM card tray, a USB-C port and a speaker grille.
reflect
The new Vivo V27 Pro has a 6.78-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and HDR10+ support. It has a screen resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels and a density of 388 pixels per inch. The reproduced colors are very vivid, bright and saturated, as the screen can display more than 16 million colors. The curved screen is ideal for watching movies and games as the bezel-less design offers a larger viewing area. The phone supports Smart Switch mode to adjust the refresh rate based on usage; It analyzes the requirements, especially for games, and then adjusts the refresh rate. The visibility of the screen is strong and you can easily see it in bright daylight.
Operating systems
The Vivo V27 Pro features Android 13 with the exclusive Funtouch v13 OS on top, which is an improvement over the V25 Pro's Funtouch v12 OS. While the new operating system has several new improvements and improved features, the overall user interface remains largely the same.
Processor
The latest Vivo V27 Pro is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 8200 (4nm) chipset that has eight cores, one of which runs at 3.1GHz Cortex-A78, three cores run at 3.0GHz Cortex-A78 and the remaining four cores run at ' a frequency of 2.0 GHz. GHz Cortex-A55, its frequency. It is one of the fastest processors among Vivo smartphones. According to its charter, it handles any task easily and without delay.
The phone is also equipped with HyperEngine 6.0, which supports the Vulcan SDK for in-game ray tracing, FPS boosting and intelligent resource optimization. At the same time, the graphics processor remained the same - Mali-G610 MC6. It is now clocked at over 950MHz, compared to 860Hz on its predecessor.
HyperEngine 6.0 makes gaming on your mobile a pleasure. The wide screen, along with the refresh rate, helps improve gameplay. But surprisingly, the nearly £40,000 phone lacked the Qualcomm Snapdragon processor we can find in the rival OnePlus 11R, which comes with an SD 8+ Gen 1 processor.

camera
Vivo has always delighted us with its camera capabilities, and the latest Vivo V27 Pro also packs an excellent camera capability to take incredibly beautiful photos.
On the back of the phone is a 50-megapixel Sony IMX766 Quad-Bayer sensor with f/1.9 aperture, optically stabilized lens (OIS) and PDAF. The main lens also has a 2x zoom. The second sensor is an 8-megapixel OV8D1 sensor with an nf/2.2 aperture, while the third sensor is a 2-megapixel OmniVision OV02B1 sensor with an nf/2.4 aperture.
The main sensor takes photos at 12.5 MP by default. Daylight images impress with perfect color balance and accurate contrast levels. Captured scenes preserve every aspect of the subject in fine detail. We like the natural image rendering. The 2x zoom photos also provide a lot of detail. Compared to normal zoom, images are beautifully rendered with excellent contrast, dynamic range, noise reduction and vibrant colors.
Ultra-wide 8-megapixel images have good dynamic range and excellent contrast. Colors are as bright as the original camera, and noise is kept to a minimum. The 2-megapixel macro camera is ideal for close-up shots. We also liked the camera's ability to separate the subject from the background during portrait shots. For shooting at night, it is recommended to immediately use the night mode, because shadows and dark spots are stable.
For selfies, a 50-megapixel Samsung ISOCELL S5KJN1 sensor with a tetracell filter and f/2.45 aperture is used. Selfies preserve natural skin tones, and portrait mode perfectly separates the subject from the background. The noise effect is not visible at all on the selfie. At night, the self-sensor does a good job with clear shots.

battery
The latest Vivo V27 Pro comes with a 4,600 mAh battery, which is relatively less than the predecessor V25 Pro's 4,800 mAh battery.
However, the phone will easily last a full day on a single charge. To recharge the phone after endless games or watching movies, there is support for fast wired charging with a capacity of 66 W, which charges the battery from 0 to 100% in about an hour.
opinion
The new Vivo V27 Pro has a light weight, elegant design and curved display, and its color scheme changes throughout the day. Its computing performance and camera capabilities bring it closer to flagship status. However, it falls a little short of the qualifying score due to the lack of a Qualcomm processor.
That slip puts the OnePlus 11R on top as buyers finalize their plans before reading their charts. The OnePlus 11R is powered by a Qualcomm SD 8+ Gen 1 processor and costs just two grand more than the Vivo V27 Pro, which starts at £37,999 for the 8/128GB variant.
