As the company has secured a patent for such a camera cover device, it looks like OPPO is planning to launch a flagship smartphone. Does it seem confusing? So let me explain.
A new OPPO design patent was revealed by CNIPA in China. As many of you know, that doesn't mean much since tech companies file patents all the time. However, it can be very interesting and a real tool in the future.
This OPPO smartphone hides its cameras alone
If you look at the pictures below the article, you will see what I mean. The cameras of this device are hidden when turned on. When fully extended, the rear cameras are exposed.
It looks great when the device is stored, but on the other hand... you can't take pictures until it's unlocked. Of course, this is not the most useful solution, although it is beautiful. These cameras are well protected in this condition too, so that's a plus.
You will also notice that there is no front camera. We assume that OPPO is planning an under-display camera for this phone, which would make sense in terms of design. The phone does its best to hide its rear camera, so why not do the same for the front?
All the physical buttons are on the right side of this phone. A Type-C connector is visible at the bottom with a speaker. Below are some pictures of this phone being manufactured and shipped.
The company has already announced the smartphone, but it is only a working concept device
Now some of you remember another smartphone from OPPO. At the end of 2020, this company presented the OPPO X 2021. This was the concept of the company's mobile device, but it was fully implemented.
OPPO didn't offer it for commercial use because there were still hurdles to overcome. It seems that the device is not ready for the first time. However, it has been almost two and a half years since then and we hope to see the first commercially available handset in the near future. Will OPPO be the company to release? Only time will tell.
This oppo phone theme hides cameras by default on android headlines.
