Vivo X Fold 2 Specs All But Confirmed As Launch Draws Near
The Vivo X Fold 2 is expected to be announced soon, and as we get closer to that unconfirmed date, more information is starting to leak. This time, the leak appears to come in the form of slides that would typically be used to teach retail employees about the phone's features and benefits.
With this in mind, Vivo seems to be going with some very big numbers and impressive words to describe it. As if having a phone that folds in half isn't exciting enough, Vivo has all the best specs too.
These specifications come from a leaked chipset shared on Chinese social network Weibo. GSM Arena and SeekAdvice discovered the leak.
Looking at what the offering looks like, we can expect the Vivo X Fold 2 to feature Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip and be paired with super-fast LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.0 storage. These things should ensure that buyers don't have to wait for apps to load, though there's no word on how much RAM or storage will be offered.
We also learned that the cover display will be 6.53-inches with a 1080p resolution and will support a 120Hz refresh rate and a maximum brightness of 1600 nits.
Moving inside, the foldable display will be 8.03 inches and will again support a 120Hz refresh rate. In terms of resolution, buyers can expect 2160x1916, while maximum brightness goes up to 1800 nits.
Other information mentions Wi-Fi 7 compatibility, while the battery capacity will be 4800 mAh. This battery will charge at 120W when using a cable, while 50W wireless charging will be available for those allergic to plugging things in.
As for when the Vivo X Fold 2 will be announced, we're expecting an April 2023 release, which luckily we won't have to wait too long for.
