While it's not Minecraft in space , as some people have noted, this fun indie puts a heavenly spin on some of the game's basics. A crafting, crafting and space based survival game.
Set in the 25th century, it goes beyond the ends of the Earth as players assume the role of an astronaut, collect materials and achieve interplanetary communication. Without skirmishing with enemies like in a Mojang game, Astroner tests players' skills in a variety of ways, even in challenging environments. Everything from deadly vegetation to suffocation to active geysers can harm this intrepid astronaut.

Those who enjoy the more dangerous elements of Minecraft , namely traversing the desert with few tools and few resources, should enjoy this fun game. Studio Wildcards' ark is scaled and sculpted from dinosaurs for a sense of exhilaration and excitement rarely matched. Players are on the edge of their seats fending off reptiles and other humans, often with single and combined weapons.
Players can choose to venture into the rugged prehistoric wilderness alone or with others (even by forming large online clans). Each mode has its own dynamic, but both prove fun and exciting in their own way. Deck players face a pretty steep learning curve and a lot of work, though Minecraft fans are no strangers to that either. And indeed, the weaknesses early on make it all the more rewarding when the ark is defeated.

Considering the source material, including this spin-off might seem like a no-brainer, but Minecraft Dungeons is so much more than its open-world isometric crawler cousin like Diablo and Gauntlet . At the same time, fans should appreciate the many Minecraft references and attractive views, not to mention the large collection of combat and items.
While mechanically simple and mediocre, this game does enough to keep players interested. The base game is five to six hours long, but Minecraft Dungeons keeps players coming back with a fantastic magic system, rewarding progress, and huge dungeons with enemies. It wouldn't hurt if the extensive DLC packs and challenging Apocalypse mode added more to the mix.

Another spin-off, Minecraft Legends tackles the strategy genre, but it's an action-oriented game. Like Dungeons , this title appears to be designed to serve as an entry-level alternative to the genre that is primarily aimed at more experienced gamers. The result is a game that incorporates most of the basic principles of strategy, just in a simplified form.
Ultimately , Minecraft Legends is more likely to please fans of the original title who want to spend more time in this universe than fans of strategy. The spin-off also retains some of the artwork and building mechanics, though not as deep as Minecraft .

Pathea Games' My Time at Portia is a beautiful take on Minecraft and The Sims, with some RPG elements thrown in for good measure. You wouldn't tell by the cool themes, but the game is set after the collapse of civilization where players emerge (literally) from underground and have to rebuild.
The goals are to gather resources to craft items, which will make way for more items and better tools for city expansion. At the same time, players can find treasures and boons from the village, as well as various enemies from the dungeons.

As the name suggests, this game takes place in a single vulnerable spot left in a sea of enemies. Swedish studio Redbeet Interactive has taken the "desperate art of survival" concept from Minecraft and turned it into something smaller and more isolated, but fun. - Soft fit for most of the game.
Most of the fun doesn't necessarily involve the wooden life buoy itself, but rather the action that surrounds it. Players compete alongside hungry sharks and other creatures to grab items or dive into the water to find valuable resources and build and strengthen their deck to survive.

Fans are probably not familiar with particularly stressful moments in Minecraft . Well, you can think of Craft The World as a full two-dimensional version of that experience with some fun tower defense elements.
This colorful decoy game is a mix of Dungeon Keeper , Terraria and Dwarf Fortress , but there is much more to the high-level game in terms of building versatility and survival features. Craft the World offers a rewarding gameplay as players lead a group of dwarfs to craft, craft, and defend against nighttime obstacles.

Minecraft 's massive success has spawned many imitators, or at least attempts to emulate it. To avoid duplication, this piece will not highlight most of the simpler 3D clones. However , I find it unfair not to shout at the Echo of 2018.
This sophisticated social game brings a co-op premise and multiple activities to engage in the vast digital wasteland. Echo is like a passive version of Minecraft mixed with The Sims , as players interact with each other, manage their characters, and generally go about their day-to-day lives. The goal is to evolve your community to help your friends (and yourself) withstand an impending meteor strike.

Stardew Valley's gameplay is characterized by its dynamic and open-ended nature, as well as its focus on social gameplay, which encourages cooperation. However, this eschews 3D realism and embraces the nostalgic joys of 2D sprites and vibrant visuals.
Like Minecraft , it started out with relatively humble beginnings on PC, before exploding in popularity and hitting every major platform in recent years. Stardew Valley combines Harvest Moon -style farm management with more traditional RPG crafting, exploration, combat, and other features. The result is over 80 hours of challenging gameplay that you can enjoy alone or with a friend.

It might be a good idea to try a Lego-themed title with the Lego -like shapes of Minecraft , as well as the block assembly mechanics. But in reality, the similarity goes beyond visual and environmental utility. Whether you're a fan of these colorful toys or not, the game's wide range and flexibility make it easy to enjoy as players can engage in many activities.
The game emphasizes the building side of Minecraft , though players can engage in fun demolition, management, and dungeon exploration.
5 The Legend of Zelda: Kingdom Tears
Breath of the Wild is an easy recommendation for anyone looking to play games like Minecraft , especially if you're primarily into immersive sandboxing rather than crafting. However, those who want to keep the latter should check out The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom , which takes the flawless foundation of the former and adds a fuse system that allows Link to build all kinds of vehicles. , weapons, and more and equipment. Buildings. While players can't build massive bases like in Minecraft , TOTK still promotes and rewards their creativity.
Otherwise TOTK is a great package overall. Set in a vast open world that largely escapes players on the railroad, the game offers a level of freedom matched by a handful of its contemporaries, including Minecraft .

This Chucklefish Odyssey shines as one of the best 2D adventures of all time with its free and deep gameplay. Starbound revolves around a system of randomly generated worlds with unique biomes that serve as a blank slate to build upon, filled with creatures to battle.
Starbound feels like a Minecraft- style adventure in a virtual Star Trek quest, as players have a central hub that they can use to fly to unique lush worlds. In true Mojang fashion, the game is massive with a variety of cool weapons, items, and environments. However, it requires a more streamlined approach to engaging stories and quests than Terraria or Minecraft .

Like Project Mojang, Epic Games' Fortnite helped usher in the new style of play with its free-to-play model and battle royale arena in a sandbox environment. The game emphasizes building as you go, dodging and shooting enemies with a variety of weapons.
Despite these unique features, the open-ended crafting mechanic coupled with exciting combat is sure to make Minecraft fans itch. The constant struggle for survival is a key theme of Notch's project and Fortnite leans on it in its own tragic way.

In 2016, Square Enix innovated the PC and console game Minecraft and the established JRPG, Dragon Quest . They did this by combining features from both titles, bringing simulation management components and an attractive aesthetic appeal. With the series in 2019, they have taken it one step further by adding more content, bigger locations and new multiplayer features.
This time, up to four players can participate in missions, battles and constructions in this colorful fantasy world. Locally or online. As a bonus, a first person view has been added for a more immersive feel and underwater travel has been enabled, adding to the variety of settings.

While it doesn't look great, Terraria is as close to a Minecraft experience as you can get in a 2D space. The game also uses a deceptively simple retro feel to its graphics. Beneath the base surface, however, lies an incredibly intense and enthralling adventure. Taking Metroidvania style to the next level.
Just like Minecraft , there are various quests to take part in, lands to explore and plunder, and enemies to defeat. Players can make their way into the dark depths of the world and kill bosses, travel the world to find gifts or build a big rich house. Despite being a 2011 release, Terraria still feels great.
