Nothing to launch in India any time soon. The wearable, made by a British startup led by OnePlus co-founder Carl Pei, was recently spotted on the BIS certification website. According to reports, nothing works on the smartwatch. The company is preparing to launch the Nothing Phone 2 on July 11th as the successor to the Nothing Phone 1. The company also introduced two wireless stereo headphones, the Nothing Ear 1 and the Nothing Ear Stick.
Tipster Mukul Sharma (stufflistings) has discovered an unbranded device in the Smartwatch category on the BIS certification site. The device bears the model number D395. Sharma also says he saw the "CMF By Nothing" brand a few months ago and the name matched the one listed in BIS.
The leak suggests that the smartwatch could launch later this year and is expected to be available in India as well. However, it's unlikely to launch alongside the forthcoming Nothing Phone 2, which launches in July and can be purchased through Flipkart.
In February, Carl Pei tweeted about the smartwatch, saying he bought the Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 Pro but didn't know what it was for. When a user asked if anyone was getting into the smartwatch segment, Pai said he was "looking into that category."
Meanwhile, the launch date of Nothing Phone 2 in India and the global market is coming up. It will be the successor to the Nothing Phone 1. The phone is powered by the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC as per the Flipkart listing. It is also said to be made from a fully recycled aluminum frame. Nothing has been confirmed that the Phone 2 will have a 4,700mAh battery.
The upcoming Nothing Phone 2 will receive Android OS updates for three years, as well as security updates for four years. More details about the phone are expected to be announced shortly before the release date.
