Last year, Xiaomi launched its first tablet under its Redmi sub-brand, the Redmi Pad. The company is said to be working on a successor to this device, the Redmi Pad 2, and according to a new leak, the upcoming tablet could be in the entry-level category.
Trusted tipster Digital Chat Station has revealed what they claim are the specifications of the Redmi Pad 2. If true, it will have a 2K LCD display with a 10-11-inch screen size and a 90Hz refresh rate, just like the original Pad that previously offered four Dolby-tuned Atmos speakers, but no leaks. :

It will reportedly be powered by an older Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 chipset, which according to NanoReview is a significant step down from the MediaTek Helio G99. Of course, nothing is known yet about RAM and storage configurations, but for context, its predecessor offers 3GB and 6GB of RAM and up to 128GB of storage.
The Redmi Pad 2's camera setup may also be downsized, as DCS claims it will have an 8MP rear and a 5MP front-facing camera, while the latter uses an 8MP sensor on the previous model. It may be powered by the same 8000 mAh battery.

If you're not familiar with the original tablet, it has a 10.6-inch LCD screen with a resolution of 1200x2000 pixels and an adjustable refresh rate of 90Hz. Powered by the MediaTek Helio G99 SoC, this mid-range device is backed by an 8000mAh battery with 18W charging support.
Everything about the upcoming product is still under wraps, including the price. The original tablet starts at RM899 but the Redmi Pad 2 is likely to get a significant discount, it will be interesting to see if it gets a discount. Some rumors suggest that it will be launched in Q3 2023 alongside the Redmi K60 Ultra.
